Software Engineer focused on building and maintaining scalable back-end systems, smart web applications, and internal ML/AI and data processing pipelines. The role involves end-to-end ownership, system design, distributed services, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, performance optimization, and mentoring junior developers.
What you'll do
- Take complete, end-to-end ownership of development and production pipelines for internal tools and consumer-facing products
- Develop new smart web applications and internal ML/AI and processing pipelines
- Ensure high performance, reliability and availability of hosted deep learning and geoprocessing services
- Translate high-level tasks and product requirement documents into technical design documents and scalable codebases
- Develop and implement high and low-level system design for newer projects
- Set up infrastructure for monitoring and logging for deployed software
- Evaluate, profile and improve existing systems
- Coordinate with internal teams to understand data processing pipelines and provide technical solutions
- Lead junior developers and ensure high code quality through code reviews, automated linting and development best practices
Must have
3+ years of work experience in Back-end development, preferably Django Experience with Frontend development and Software Design/Architecture Knowledge of messaging services like Apache Kafka and RabbitMQ Experience in developing data processing pipelines Experience in distributed web services development and chaining Understanding of cloud services like AWS and GCP Experience with DevOps technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins and CI/CD Strong system design skills, including high and low-level design Ability to translate product requirements into scalable, maintainable and readable codebases Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Good to have
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a Tier-1 institute Experience with PostGIS or any other geo-database Experience in developing production versions of deep learning applications Understanding of Geographic Information Systems and related terminologies Experience working in both start-up and enterprise culture Experience leading junior developers and ensuring code quality through code reviews and automated linting
