SDE 2 – Backend Engineer responsible for designing, developing, and scaling backend systems using Node.js. The role involves building reliable APIs and services, working with databases and distributed systems, and taking end-to-end ownership of backend features in a fast-paced product environment.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs and backend components
• Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and data models
• Own backend features end-to-end from development to production
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Debug production issues and improve system reliability and performance
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices
• Improve backend architecture, scalability, observability, and performance
• Contribute to technical design and architecture decisions

Must have

2–4 years of backend software engineering experience Strong hands-on experience with Node.js Strong understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript Experience building RESTful APIs and backend services Strong knowledge of databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB Good understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering fundamentals Experience with Git and production-grade development practices Experience building, debugging, and maintaining scalable backend systems

Good to have

Experience with TypeScript Experience with Redis, Kafka, or other caching/messaging systems Exposure to AWS or other cloud platforms Experience with Docker and CI/CD Understanding of microservices and distributed systems Experience working in a product-based company or startup environment
