We are looking for a Backend Engineer to build reliable, scalable backend systems powering high-volume digital document, agreement, and workflow journeys. You’ll work primarily with Python, building APIs, integrations, automation workflows, and services that handle secure and compliance-sensitive business processes.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python.
- Build and maintain REST APIs powering document and workflow journeys.
- Develop backend workflows for high-volume document execution and automation.
- Integrate third-party services, APIs, and external systems reliably.
- Design efficient database schemas, queries, and data-access layers.
- Build secure services with appropriate authentication, authorization, and data protection.
- Write unit/integration tests and participate in code reviews.
- Monitor, debug, and improve application performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Collaborate with product, frontend, QA, and other engineering teams to ship production features.
Must have
0–2 years of hands-on backend development experience. Strong proficiency in Python — essential for the role. Good understanding of RESTful APIs and backend service development. Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, OOP, and software design. Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL. Understanding of authentication, authorization, API security, and secure data handling. Familiarity with Git, debugging, testing, and standard software development practices. Ability to write clean, maintainable, and production-ready code. Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to work on complex business workflows.
Good to have
Experience with Django, FastAPI, Flask, or similar Python frameworks. Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms. Experience with Redis, caching, queues, or asynchronous processing. Understanding of microservices and distributed systems. Experience integrating third-party APIs and external services. Familiarity with Docker and containerized deployments. Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and basic DevOps practices. Experience working with document processing, workflow automation, or SaaS products. Exposure to fintech, BFSI, legal-tech, compliance, or other regulated domains.
