We're looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to own and scale the frontend experience of an AI-powered enterprise SaaS platform across web applications, browser extensions, and productivity tools. You'll drive frontend architecture, performance optimization, and component system design while building seamless, responsive experiences that bring AI-generated insights and actions directly into users' workflows. This role offers the opportunity to shape frontend engineering standards, solve complex cross-platform challenges, and build polished, enterprise-grade interfaces in a fast-paced startup environment.
What you'll do
- Own the architecture and development of a React/TypeScript web application, Chrome extension, Microsoft Office add-in, and Google Sheets add-on.
- Build consistent, responsive, and intuitive user experiences across multiple platforms and workflows.
- Design and maintain reusable component libraries, design tokens, and frontend infrastructure that enable efficient and consistent development.
- Profile and improve application load times, rendering efficiency, memory usage, responsiveness, and browser extension lifecycle performance.
- Collaborate with NLP and backend engineers to translate AI-generated insights, streaming outputs, and recommendations into intuitive, trustworthy user interfaces.
- Establish engineering standards through code reviews, architectural decisions, reusable patterns, testing practices, and frontend technical guidelines.
- Identify and resolve platform-specific issues, edge cases, performance bottlenecks, and reliability challenges across frontend surfaces.
- Partner with product managers and designers to refine interactions, improve accessibility, and deliver polished interfaces that meet enterprise expectations.
- Drive frontend initiatives end-to-end, from technical design and implementation through testing, deployment, and continuous improvement.
Must have
3+ years of production experience building and shipping applications using React and TypeScript. Strong proficiency in modern frontend technologies, including state management solutions such as Redux or Zustand and build tools such as Webpack or Vite. Hands-on experience developing at least one non-web frontend surface, such as Chrome extensions, browser extensions, Microsoft Office add-ins, or Google Workspace add-ins. Strong understanding of platform-specific constraints, lifecycle management, messaging patterns, and edge cases associated with browser extensions or productivity-tool integrations. Expertise in frontend architecture, reusable component design, state management patterns, and evaluating technical trade-offs. Proven experience profiling and optimizing production applications for load times, rendering performance, memory usage, and responsiveness. Practical experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, Vitest, React Testing Library, or Playwright, with testing integrated into the development lifecycle. Ability to build clean, accessible, maintainable interfaces with attention to usability, consistency, and interaction details. Strong technical ownership, including making architectural decisions, conducting code reviews, establishing engineering standards, and collaborating with design, product, and backend teams.

Experience with Chrome extension internals, including content scripts, background service workers, messaging patterns, permissions, and browser lifecycle management. Familiarity with Office.js, Microsoft Office add-ins, Google Sheets APIs, or Google Workspace add-on development. Experience integrating LLM-powered features, streaming AI outputs, real-time insights, or AI-generated content into interactive user interfaces. Previous experience building B2B SaaS products with an understanding of enterprise usability, reliability, and security expectations. Familiarity with AWS, automated deployment pipelines, GitHub Actions, and frontend build and release workflows. Experience developing component libraries, design systems, shared UI primitives, and design token infrastructure. Exposure to browser profiling tools, bundle optimization, lazy loading, rendering optimization, and memory leak debugging. Experience maintaining consistent user experiences across web applications, browser extensions, and embedded productivity-tool interfaces. Previous experience in early-stage startups, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, take ownership, and drive solutions independently.
