This role is for one of our client companies — an AI-driven healthcare technology startup transforming medical coding and revenue cycle management. The company is building scalable healthcare platforms that streamline complex workflows through technology and automation. As a Junior Software Development Engineer, you will work on backend systems, develop robust APIs, and contribute to building reliable, high-performance applications.
What you'll do
- Develop, maintain, and optimize backend services and scalable APIs.
- Contribute to building reliable backend architectures and distributed systems.
- Work with SQL/NoSQL databases and support data integrations across services.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
- Participate in code reviews, debugging, and performance improvements.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to deliver features and improve system reliability.
Must have
0–2 years of experience in software or backend development, including relevant internships or projects. Strong programming fundamentals in at least one of Python, Node.js, or Go. Good understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, OOP, and problem-solving. Familiarity with REST APIs, backend development, and microservices architecture. Basic understanding of SQL/NoSQL databases and data modelling. Familiarity with distributed systems concepts and message brokers such as Kafka. Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and Docker. Strong communication skills, ownership, and willingness to learn.
Good to have
Hands-on experience with production projects, internships, or open-source contributions. Familiarity with CI/CD, automated testing, and code review practices. Exposure to healthcare technologies, HL7 FHIR, HIPAA, or EHR/EMR integrations.
