We are looking for a Tech Lead to own the technical direction and execution of backend and full-stack engineering initiatives. You’ll be hands-on with architecture, coding, scalability, code quality, and mentoring while working closely with product and engineering teams to build reliable, secure, high-performance SaaS systems.
What you'll do
- Own the technical architecture and engineering direction for key product areas.
- Design and build scalable backend services and APIs using Python.
- Make pragmatic decisions around architecture, technology, scalability, and reliability.
- Drive development from technical design through production deployment.
- Review code and establish strong engineering standards and best practices.
- Identify and resolve performance, reliability, security, and scalability challenges.
- Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar across the team.
- Work closely with product, design, and business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Lead initiatives to improve engineering productivity, automation, observability, and overall system quality.
Must have
4-7 years of strong software engineering experience with significant backend ownership. Strong hands-on experience with Python and backend development. Proven experience designing scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems. Strong understanding of REST APIs, databases, distributed systems, and microservices. Experience owning technical architecture and making key engineering decisions. Strong understanding of system design, performance optimization, security, and reliability. Experience leading engineers through design, development, code reviews, and delivery. Strong debugging and problem-solving skills with a hands-on engineering mindset. Excellent communication skills and ability to work closely with product and business teams.
Good to have
Experience with Django, FastAPI, Flask, or similar Python frameworks. Strong frontend exposure with React.js or modern JavaScript frameworks. Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms. Familiarity with Redis, Kafka, queues, and event-driven architectures. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines. Exposure to ML/AI integrations, LLMs, or intelligent automation. Experience building secure, compliance-sensitive, or transaction-heavy products. Experience with SaaS, fintech, legal-tech, or document/workflow automation products. Previous experience mentoring and growing high-performing engineering teams.
